Among these banks, Zenith Bank earned the most, with ₦21.02 billion in account maintenance charges. This accounted for nearly 29% of the total income generated by all 11 banks.
Next in line was Access Holdings, which made ₦13.363 billion from account maintenance. This represented a 10.97% increase compared to the previous year.
GTCO secured the third position, earning ₦10.481 billion from account maintenance, marking an 11.08% year-on-year increase.
UBA followed with ₦9.64 billion in account maintenance income for the first half of 2023, showing an impressive 46.11% growth from the same period in 2022.
First Bank, although in fifth place, generated ₦5.19 billion from account maintenance. However, this marked a significant decrease of 43.5% compared to the previous year.
FCMB was in sixth place, earning ₦3.85 billion, which was a 16.3% increase from the previous year's ₦3.32 billion.
Additionally, several other banks also earned from account maintenance charges during this period:

- Sterling Bank earned ₦2.392 billion.
- Fidelity Bank earned ₦1.769 billion.
- Wema Bank earned ₦1.636 billion.
- Unity Bank earned ₦745 million.
