The group appointed Awori in September 2022 following the resignation of former CEO Ade Ayemi who turned 60.

Mr. Awori has over 25 years of experience in the banking sector, including almost 10 years as CEO and Managing Director of Absa Bank Kenya Plc.
Prior to joining Absa, he held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank in the Middle East and Africa.
His extensive expertise, skills and industry knowledge make him a valuable asset to the Ecobank Group, the statement said.
