The suspect, posing as a general in the Nigerian army, allegedly made false statements to the plaintiff, Kodef Clearing Resources, that President Muhammadu Buhari had selected him and another to be appointed chief of the Army Staff, COAS, and that he needed a short scholarship "to press and process the appointment.
He also allegedly forged a letter of appointment as COAS which was allegedly signed by the president and showed it to the victim to further prove his claim.
