WhatsApp will stop working on thousands of calls next week.
WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, will stop working on thousands of phones as it appeared first on Metro co.uk.
The Facebook-hosted app is set to suspend support for older phones worldwide on November 1, 2021.
It will stop working on up to 43 different smartphone models as it changes the needs of Android and iOS apps.
In the FAQ section of its website, WhatsApp says people should use phones running the Android OS 4.1 version or iPhones running iOS 10 and later.
If you haven't updated your system software recently, you may be unable to upgrade. But a few selected devices - which may have thousands of them in use - will lose security and feature updates.
Also, in the most unlikely case of using WhatsApp on a Linux based phone, you will need to upgrade to KaiOS 2.5.1.
Which phones will lose access to WhatsApp?
Here is a list of smartphone models WhatsApp that will stop supporting from next week.

The most obvious answer is that, unfortunately, you will need to think about paying to upgrade your phone.
However, there is a way to save your chat history if you do not want to see it gone when you move on to another phone.
You can make a backup copy of your message history in Google Drive or Cloud depending on which platform you use (iOS or Android). Alternatively, you can extract your chat history as an email attachment.
