Instagram has stopped their plans to develop kids App
The news comes after the Wall Street Journal published Facebook's internal documents detailing that 32% of teenage girls felt that Instagram made them have a worse body image.
The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, said: "We believe building Instagram Kids is the right thing to do, but we're pausing the work."
Mosseri said the app was "never meant for younger kids, but for tweens (aged 10-12)" and that it would require parental permission for children to join.
Per the announcement, Facebook would continue to work on parental supervision tools.
Instagram is working on "building new features like 'Nudges' and 'Take a Break'," Mosseri tweeted.
In May, 44 state attorneys general wrote a letter asking Facebook to scrap its plan for an under-13 app.
