Six Nigerians have been listed by authorities in the United Arab Emirates, UAE as sponsors of Boko Haram terrorist group.
Prudentj2 gathered tha the development follows the UAE cabinet resolution No 83 of 2021, designating 38 individuals and 15 entities as those supporting and financing terrorism in the country.
The identities of the six Nigerians, all of whom are of the Northern part of the country were given as; Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad.
Some of the other nationals are Ahmed Mohammed Abdulla Mohammed Alshaiba Alnuaimi (UAE), Mohamed Saqer Yousif Saqer Al Zaabi (UAE), Hamad Mohammed Rahmah Humaid Alshamsi (UAE), Saeed Naser Saeed Naser Alteneiji (UAE), Hassan Hussain Tabaja (Lebanon) and Adham Hussain Tabaja (Lebanon) among others.
Law enforcement agencies in the UAE have been directed to take the necessary actions against the individuals or entities or anyone associated with them.
A court had found them guilty of setting up a Boko Haram cell in the UAE to raise funds and material assistance for the insurgents in Nigeria.
Back in Nigeria, the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has failed to name sponsors of the deadly Islamic terrorists after several promises to do so. EWN reports that there is no known prosecution of sponsors and members of the Boko Haram sect.
Political analysts say the Buhari's administration might be shielding the insurgents after granting amnesty to self-acclaimed "repented" members of the sect.
